Synth_guy,

Mediastation people have been making waves on this board for a long time now. I am happy to see that the instrument is now shipping.

However, if you check on their web site, which Donny has kindly provided the link to, you will see that it is enormously expensive, especially the "professional" model. Also, since there are no dealers that I know of, I have not been able to play one.

If the return policy were long enough (45 days?) I might be tempted to order one to try out, if the web site provided a better description. When I look at the list of features, it appears that the multitude of buttons is only available on the Professional model, which is beyond my financial means.

Regards

After reading the treads on the mediastaion website forum, I wonder if this amazing board is available yet. The last post didn't even have a response! Are they still in business? If this board comes out and the price is right, I think we have a winner. Also, make sure to look at the Wersi Ikarus and Abacus, same concept but from a manufacture that has been around.

How is this any better than the openlabs Neko?

It includes arranger capabilities, display is not optional, and supposedly you can use the low-end model right out of the box. On the other hand, Neko has more available software (which is more expensive) and with the myriad of knobs on the available control panels it may be much better suited for soft synthesis.

I've actually owned a Wersi board. I home built the Alpha DX350 (I still have it) many many years ago. It was an over priced, unreliable, piece of crap with very poor support and workmanship.

I'll never purchase a Wersi again.
