Well I ordered Verizon DSL should have it in a week or so, Fran helped me get skype up and running. Gonna have my home phone number transferred to my prepaid cell($5 a month)
Now if the DSL works OK I get get out from under the cable company and save about 100 bucks a month. I just hated paying for all the things I don't use, like 300 channels, all the digital phone features, and the fact that they always have special deals for half price for a year just makes me mad.
So I'm gonna use the deal on dsl for a year then I'll take the cable deal for a year and so on.

Thanks to everyone for the replies, I've had DSL for a couple of weeks now and really see no noticeable difference except the DSL is more reliable. I don't have to keep resetting the modem like I did with cable.
And like Fran said when the cable goes down or the power goes out I still have the dsl (on a ups).
