Guys, please don't ask me to walk this fine line any further than I have to. I can't go on forever without stepping on somebody's toes. If Yamaha yanks my chain, I'm sure you know who's side I'll come down on. I really do appreciate what you guys are doing here. Dont spend too much energy trying to solve a non-issue.

Done deal as far as I concerned. I asked a Q. out of curiosity more than anything and Steve gave a reasonable truthful answer. I consider the matter closed and we should drop it.

I don't get this.

I've had a link in my favourites to the Yamaha Japan manual site for ages (you can get there via Yamaha Europes home page). Unless my details are in a cookie I don't know about, then I am not logging into this site or doing anything special.

So I've just gone to my link:
http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/index.html

Then accepted the license agreement
And then chosen "Electronic Musical Instruments" on the search page

Then searched for Tyros..

And downloaded the manual (all 8 meg of it - 176 pages, three languages).

Just to reinforce the fact that I don't think I'm using any illegal back doors, heres the link to Yamaha Europe home page. The link to the manuals library is at the middle of the right hand side of the page:

Guys the point was not whether or not we could get the manuals. They are available no problem. When one opens the manual in Adobe and tries to copy a portion of text to put in a post to answer a Q. the Adobe file is password protected and will not allow one to copy any of it was the "non issue."

Now I understand!

It's the same in my copy.

Doesn't stop us using screen shots, however. Therefore, not a problem. Just remember to turn down the colour depth of the bitmap so as not to take up too much space.

Now you know what it is I was suggesting as the "workaround."
