Ok, this song I made a few years ago, using a Korg Trinity, a recorder, and some violin by my brother (he was on the video I posted last). It's sequenced, and not done on an arranger, but it's still worth a listen hopefully. I did all parts except for the violin. The main tune is an old Hassidic one, but the introduction is mine. All comments welcome, good or bad. Zalman [woops, ok here it is http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1VE18HYZEFB9S2NL9EGB152Z2O ] [This message has been edited by zalmi (edited 11-24-2005).]

Zalmi, to me the song is "bright"; true, it's a song of sorrow and hard work, but also of hope. There is definitely the hope of a better future, but the present is still not what we would like. Very well played and full of emotion. Would like to know the words, preferibly translated in english

Dreamer: Yes they are beautiful lyrics. I think the mood of the song also reflects the lyrics, although they are not sung.
Thanks DonM for your compliments. Do you think it needs improvement to be on commercial standard? If so, which areas.
STAM, I also find that every time I listen to the track, I'm transported somewhere else! The melody is a Hasidic one from the Chabad group, not sure which country of origin, possibly Russia or Romania.
I find that a lot of these tunes really need to be played outside of a 'click' to do it full justice. Since I was sequencing, I had to use a click, but I wasn't following the bars, because it alternates between 3/4, 4/4 and 5/4. I think the tune isn't really meant to have a 'beat', but it probably is closest to a 3/4.

Great Melody, very well recorded, well balanced, bright with air in it... sorry don't know how to give a proper english name for that, you might say the song "breezes"
The violin is very well played and an excellent pitch! as well.
