What are most people using, what works best & why?

I purchased a good 40 gig hard disk and 512 meg of ram for sampling. I think 20-30 gig is more than enough, but I think I paid $139 for the 40gig and decided it's better to err on the oversize rather than undersize.

The 512 gig is good enough. Even 100k of wave files takes some time to load. I couldn't even imaging loading 512meg-1 gig sample files!! It would take about 15 minutes.

Al , I have a question..Is the Tyros2 capable to play back wav files[songs as on a CD], directly from the hard drive..or can it play a wav, but have to load into ram memory?
