Hello Arrangereers,
I'm no expert with the MFC-10 but I do have some simplified instructions for setting it up to fade the R2 voice In & out, and to control the keyboard's vocal harmony (on/off) function. I don't know how many want this information but here it is:
Initial Preparation:
1) Turn ON the MFC10.
NOTE: Make sure that the 2 switches in the back are set to 'NORMAL' and 'MIDI'.
2) Connect a MIDI cable from the MFC10 'MIDI OUT' to the 9000PRO 'MIDI B IN'.
3) Connect a MIDI cable from the 9000PRO 'MIDI B OUT' to the MFC10 'MIDI IN'.
NOTE: Make sure that the 'HOST SELECT' switch in the back of the 9000PRO is set to 'MIDI'.
4) Turn ON the 9000PRO.
5) Press the [MIDI] button.
6) Press the button under 'MFC10' in the screen.
Full Setup (for creating customized Templates):
In the following example, a custom Template will be created from a preset one, using the MFC10 to control the Volume of the 9000PRO 'R2' section (set to Strings), and to turn Vocal Harmony ON/OFF.
1) Select 'Full Setup' in the screen.
2) Turn ON the [FUNCTION] button on the MFC10.
3) Press the [NEXT] button on the 9000PRO.
4) Press the [NEXT] button again.
5) Select a preset Template in the screen.
EXAMPLE: 'DSP CONTROL'.
6) Press the [NEXT] button.
7) Assign functions to the Foot Controllers in the screen.
EXAMPLE: Assign '1(INT.) VOLUME' to 'RIGHT 2'. (This allows the MFC10 on-board Foot Controller to control the Volume of the 9000PRO 'R2' section.)
8) Press the [NEXT] button.
9) Assign functions to the Foot Switches in the screen.
EXAMPLE: Switch 'F06' is already set up to control Vocal Harmony ON/OFF.
10) Press the [NEXT] button.
11) Select an empty Template location in the screen.
EXAMPLE: '05 :No Data'.
12) Press the [NEXT] button.
13) Name the custom Template.
14) When finished, press the button under 'END' in the screen.
15) Press the [G] button twice.
16) Unplug the MIDI cable from the 9000PRO 'MIDI B OUT' jack.
17) Press the [EXIT] button.
18) Select a desired Voice for the 'R1' section, and then the 'R2' section (select STRINGS).
The MFC10 Foot Controller wil now control the Volume of the 9000PRO 'R2' section (STRINGS). The MFC10 Foot Switch [6] will now toggle the 9000PRO Vocal Harmony function ON/OFF.
Backup the Template settings:
1) Press the [A] button.
2) Press the [G] button to backup the new settings.
9000PRO Owner's Manual, p. 178-179
Well, that's it. Hope it helps the MFC-10 owners out there.
Regards, Steve
