Usually I just set the Eons on the floor tilted up. There is more than enough bass in the situations that you can do that, which is the majority of time. When I use the sub which is not needed very often, I use the z5500 Logitech sub only. It weighs 34 lbs, I haul it in a rolling duffle bag. It has more bottom by far than I would ever need or want.
If a little more omph is needed the UB802 Behringer mixer makes a noticable difference in the headroom department.
I put marine web belting handles on the Eons for very easy and balanced transport. I just took off the speaker plate, inserted the belting, and screwed the plate back on. Otherwise they're a little lopsided when trying to use their idea of a handle.
They work for me on about 98% of my needs. But, interestingly enough, the few times that I wished I had more volume, I was asked to turn down. Interesting how we perceive it and how the paying customer and audience sees it.
These would end your search for a small set up. If in your case you need more for the bigger jobs then you can pull out the Mackies.
They're just 23 lbs. Just plug and play.
