To The Pro
Thanks for the reply and clarification.I have the Yamaha softsynth on my laptop but it does not like to coexist with my notation program. I agree that the sound is good.

Bernie, I've used the Yamaha too. Try fiddling with your options page. The softsynth can sit unseen if you want - maybe that will solve your notation problem. BTW which notation program do you use? I had no problems with the notation screens on Cakewalk or Power Tracks when I used the Yammie softie.

Hi Cassp

I will try reconfiguring and see if I can get it to work. I am using MidiNotate with an association option of opening all midi files. This could be part of my problem. I might have to go to another program but I just bought Power Tracks and I would hate to dish out for Cakewalk although it is superior.
Thanks
Bernie

Jim it's funny how we see and hear things differently...I uninstalled my Yamaha soft synth years ago..I even think the Roland VSC55 sounded better, let alone the VSC88...and I know no other soft synth sounds better than Roland's Hyper Canvas..Whatever makes each of us happy is the right choice...I guess I will go listen to the Yammy sounds again , if I can listen to the stupid wrong drum map long enough to test it again..
