Frank, interesting plug-ins.
I saw something that may(or probably not)
interest you. I know you are considering
a touch screen for you FLR, but Guitar Center
is selling the Akai "MPD16" USB Midi Pad controller for $199. It has 16 pads so may
be a nice controller interface for Live-Styler using midi note# bindings.

Vquestor, the "MPD16" USB Midi Pad controller looks like one possibility but it may be on the large side for a midi controller. There are more and more midi control surfaces out there, e.g., Evolution/M-Audio, etc. As a result, I have less and less of an interest in the all-in-one solutions (OpenLabs, Wersi or the like). I like the "real open" architecture - the one you build yourself to your specifications. The Price/Performance will be hard to beat.

I saw some monitor touch screen or even LCD flat panel screens 17" on ebay.. Do a seach on ebay and you will see so many for sale..They look really nice and I wondered about them too for my setup..Specially with cubase, you know to touch the screen and move the faders etc etc by just touching the screen.. that would rock big time !!

Peace,

Musikman

Hmmmm...
Getting closer to my dream.
Something like this http://www.evolution.co.uk/products/evo_mk461c.htm
with 76 keys and a joystick to the left, it enters my setup.

Does anyone know of a 76 key controller with a joystick to the left?

I'm using a Roland A-70
I know of:
Roland A-37 (& previous models)

I remember something about a 76 key Studiologic controller but it didn't have pitch bend.

Well, I know there are a few of them out there but I'm looking for something light weight.

A-37 is the closest so if I don't find anything else, I'll use the A-37 for my new
soft-arranger.
Yeah, I'm still working on it.
Live-Styler is working out pretty good lately like Frank said it would after tweaking. I still get occasional screen popups but I can't seem to find out if that's a demo limitation or not.

If live-Styler incorporates all the features that I requested, I'm in luck. VST capable? Neh I won't bother. (please Norbert, VST, VST.)

Jick Duck, I have used the Roland A-37 for a couple of years and it gets the job done. It has flash memory to store 128 setups, etc. Now, should it turn out you have to much money you could always buy something like:

MusiKMan, yes the touch screen while still relatively expensive can improve your control surface particularly if the software is properly designed, e.g., Live - Styler. An example might be:

But that controller is defeating the purpose. It looks like it weighs a ton.
I'm looking for something as light weight and as compact as possible
