If you asked the question How many people are keeping their T2's/Yamaha's you'll probably find 99% are keeping them and it's only the other 1% that are moving camp.

When the new Audya comes out you'll probably see G70's, E80's PA800's etc being traded in and sold for this - it's just another Synthzone phase where people swap and change.

By the way the T2 is miles ahead of the T1 in sound, styles and features

OMG!

I can't believe for a moment that people think that the Tyros 2 is on its way out. It is still leaps and bounds ahead of most keyboards currently on the market. As for it not being much of a step above the first Tyros, that is just ludicrous.
I think it shows how few people have spent much time with it. As it is, the keyboard is out of many peoples budget. And I concur with others regarding the statement that there are far more Yamaha owners on this forum, than any other brand. It's not a shift in keyboard ownership on this forum. It's a shift in those vocalizing their opinion. With Scott not so visible anymore, or rather his pseudonym being less visible, we don't have near the heated debates that we used to. Suffice it to say, the T2 is still an amazing board that continues to deliver fantastic sound few other keyboards can duplicate.

The Tyros2 continues to be the best selling high end arranger in my region, and the other popular brands are a long way behind.

T2 sales may dip a bit with the introduction of the PSR-S900 which is eagerly awaited by those desiring a great bang for the buck(as in the 3k).

Having played a prototype PSR-S900, I believe it will be a winner.

I've played the Tyros 2 and it's awesome, but I'm getting a whole lot of music out of my Tyros 1.

Ian,
I hadn't realized you've had hands on exposure with the S900. I already have mine on order so anything you say will only excite me more.
Please share with us as much info as you can find time to do. Key feel, sounds styles, anything, everything
Jim
PS I don't mean to hijack the thread,
perhaps, Ian, You can begin a new one on your s900 experience?

Jim,

Because it was a prototype, I am not at liberty to give details...but, suffice to say, you will not be disappointed.

I have ordered one and it should be here soon...I'm pretty excited about it...they picked all the most useful SA voices from the T2 and, in my opinion, they are every bit as good.

Hi Donny.

I've heard the same. Yamaha supposedly dropping the Tyros name and coming along with something totally different for their next outing. We'll have to wait and see as if the 3 year period is still the same its not until Nov 2008
