Its coming soon....well we've had Mega/SA/so whats next? Maybe they'll get rid of intros & ending....no one really plays through them which would be considered a form of faking it until the style starts....like you see Voncken, or Baartman demo the Yamaha units ....when the intro/ending is on their hands are are off the KB....that would seem odd to an audience...I try to play my own intros when possible so not to get repetitious....different story when playing SMF & Mp3s backups...or maybe we'll have a hybrid / synth arranger mix of some sort finally, & a more split between the Pro Division units vs the home armature units too in regards to ruggedness for the road, sliders,buttons/inputs/outputs/usb-fire-wire/midi,76 keys!!! etc etc .....the list goes on & on

Do the Yamaha's have the same as the Roland system for intros? That is, there is one simple count-off intro, one intro with no lead, one intro with a lead, and, most usefully (except for the straight count-off/short intro) is an intro that responds to chord input..

Those, IMO are the most useful. No preset changes, just the rhythms and pickups preset. You can get a LOT of mileage out of those without it gets repetitive....

Diki Yamaha 3k/tyros has 3 it doesn't have the 4th version of "do your own" intro like the Rolands that is an awesome feature that you can custom make them any way you want.....that is a feature I miss from my G70. Each KB has something the other ones DONT have that's what keeping it interesting although aggravating.

Selecting one of the Intro's on both Korg & Roland can follow chord changes which is a great feature....Yamaha boards don't offer this option.

Roland also got a feature (maybe Korg and even Yamaha too?) that counts DOWN during the Intro, so even if you forget, you know how many bars long the Intro is (they all vary!)...

Now all I need is link from the style to the lyrics and chord display, that would show the changes of the pre-programmed Intros, and all would be complete...

Probably the main reason you see the big demonstrators NOT playing during the intros is probably more due to the fact that they don't know what the intro is doing, rather than they don't need to play anything!

If there were a chord display, life would be a lot easier...
