A very superb product after all is missing lots of attention in this department. many professional keyboard players here in L.A don't know this machine nor the maker. After all, the company procrastinates only on words of mouth here and I don't know how that is going to help them given the fact that their machine is very sophisticated and responds differently to each user's demand. Another example would be that they make a product such as genesys pro that I beleive attracted so much attention in the NAMM but you here nothing in regards to its production and when the machine is out other companies have come up with the similar or better ideas. What a waste

Paul,

When you say Pro, which model are you talking about, speakers or not model? And when you say shipping in 30 days, where is it shipping? Are there any pictures of the speaker less model? One would think there is, if it’s shipping in 30 days.
I live in NY and have been waiting almost 3 weeks for someone to get back to me regarding a demo somewhere in NJ. If I can't see it here in NY that makes me wonder and puzzles me. Maybe I'll have to take a trip to Mayberry. Only kidding, but this is getting out of hand and once again, makes me think of moving on with my thoughts. I’m not apart of your marketing team, but wouldn’t you think it to be a wise idea to show this board in 1 or 2 major music stores in major cities for some real exposure? After all, not everyone reads the posts; I just don’t understand this strategy…

genesys pro is referred to the speakerless one. and just as of now i know three to four of my friends who are deeply in love with this machine because of its versatility. I beleive there is no differences between genesys and genesys pro besides speakers.

Korg Fan,
I am probably the only Genesys dealer in the Los Angeles area. I am thrilled to be the only dealer but it is not an exclusive line. As is the case of Ketron, Generalmusic and even Yamaha, Korg and Roland for that matter, not many dealers choose to sell these arranger workstation types of products. This conversation has taken place many times over the years in this and other forums and I suggest that a combination of poor understanding of these products by sales and managment by many stores and a feeling that these keyboards are not being sold in large enough numbers to justify large and small stores to sell them has contributed to very few dealers nationally.
It is not uncommon to see a new product at NAMM and not have it in our stores until later in the year. In fact, this is the norm from Yamaha, Korg and Roland. Generalmusic and other companies get a feeling for how well received a new product is and begins production according to the market's excitment. To have this product in our stores by April or May is actually quite soon in my opinion.
The Genesys Pro is exactly the same keyboard as Genesys minus the speakers, extra weight and the screen will be a pop up type instead of stationary.

N = Not
A = April
M = Maybe
M = May

That's what NAMM stands for in regards to the NAMM show.

thanks alot George I agree with you 100%
And as I have heard from everyone in my area they tell me that you are the most knowledgable person in regards to not only this keyboard but many other keyboard as well and you can find the best keyboard that matches the user's demand and therefore I am grateful to be in that area, and I see this as a great advantage. Thanks Lord.

There is a lot of things at work here, first, as George said, a lot of music dealers are reluctant on stocking in high-end arranger type keyboards. Secondly, Generalmusic only in the last year started distributing all of the keyboard products they make, themselves, before then companies like Baldwin and Peavey handled marketing and distribution. Thirdly, lets face it, the mega giant companies from Japan drowned the US market in marketing/advertising. Generalmusic is a family owned and operated company out of Italy.

When I first started with the company, we had virtually no distribution here on the west coast, we now have a really good base of dealers and growing.

Generalmusic does not want to have product sold in a impersonal catalog stores. We look for dealers like George Kaye, that can demonstrate the products, and have good after-sale product support.

Generalmusic is growing, With all the new innovation Generalmusic has, we aren't going to be able to keep it a secret forever. As the technology of D.R.A.K.E. becomes known, and starts to spread, as well as the innovations of the genesys series Generalmusic will be known.

Point in case, we where on the cover of Keyboard Magazine, with Rick Wakeman spouting how much he loves his Generalmusic Promega 3. Soon to follow where pretty much all the other keyboard type magazines praising the new D.R.A.K.E. powered Promega 3. Will the genesys get that kind of press... heck no... Arranger style keyboards are looked down upon.

Ferrari, Lamborghini are well known cars, you can't find at every car lot in the US, but those that want them, seek them out. Generalmusic wants distribution to grow and be in more places, but we will never have the distribution of say a Yamaha. For those major cites that we don't have a dealer, trust me, we are working on it. These things take time. Ask your favorite local dealer to stock Generalmusic products would help .

I have a question
does the machine has sampling capabilities
that is, is it possible to make the samples and drum loops with the machine without using any softwares. I know the machine can read the samples. but i was wondering if it can make and record the samples like sd-1.
thanks

Would you be kind enough to share this base of west coast dealers and contact info with me?
