Hello all.
In past november I was playing my 9000 and decided to buy a new Kb .
For two weeks a tried Korg PA80, SD1 and VA7(version2).
I was a listener of experienced people in this forum, too.
Finally, today I am playing my new profi kb:
9000 Pro.
10 reasons for my decision:
1-Easy to operate.
2-Voices quality( for ex:Gran piano,Sweet sax,Latin percussion drums )
3-Superb and clean design.
4-128 notes polyphony
5-Weighted keys.
6-Quality and simplicity of styles.
7-NO bugs during operation.
8-Technical support in my city.
9-Technical Assist. in my city.
10-Superb vocal harmony.
Brasilian regards
Chico

ChicoBrasil,

I just wondering, what made you decide to buy the 9000pro over the SD1. If you play a lot of brazilian music personnaly I would have wanted the SD1. (and this is just my opinion)I have tried the 9000pro and I think the the brazilian styles on the SD1 sound real compared to the 9000pro. I mean a bossa and a samba sound the way they should sound.

But you most likly had a good reason. your tastes my be different from mine. well good luck on your new purchase.

Hi Chico,

Congratulations on your new Pro
I think you'll like it.
even though MC might be right, there is hope.
The new psr-2000/CVP209 styles are much improved in the latin department, and you can download them on e-groups.
I found a lot of good styles which I really like, and they sound great in the Pro.

I know that some have been removed, but I might be able to send you some which I downloaded. I didn't get all of them.

Have fun. It is a great board.

Eric

Hi Mc

I tried Sd1 for one week and now I can make
some comments:
I like voices and styles,but...
I do not like this features.
1-Old design ( Solton Ms100 silver painted)
2-Bad location of pitch and modulationwhells
3-Bad location of start/stop and fill buttons.
4-Hard to change voices or styles at live performances.(worse with HD data)
5-Bugs with sampled drums fills when I change the tempo.
6-Weak tech. support in my country

My regards,Chico

Hi Chico,
After chasing around a lot of look-alikes (here in Australia), some cheap and some not so cheap, I opted for going back to my local Yamaha distributor (Yamaha Australia) who sent me a pair of goosenecks, over-night, at a good price.

Hi Chico,
there is one thing I don't understand: why did you write "Adios VA7?"
As far as I know you never owned a VA7....
Best regards,

Chico,

Congrats on getting a Yamaha 9000PRO! I was one of the first to get it when it came onto the market. I bought it for exactly the reasons you listed (we must think alike).

My 9000PRO has been totally reliable - I haven't had a single problem with it.

The button layout is superb - everything is where it should be. Yamaha varied the size and shape of buttons to make them distinctive. I almost NEVER press the wrong button for anything.

The styles are straight-forward (not complicated or devoted to a single song) so I can use each style for multiple songs.

The voices are top-notch. I especially like the Sweet voices.

I hope you have a ton of fun with your new keyboard and have a merry Christmas.

Steve
