Poor User Manual for 9000 & 9000Pro. I may be having a Senior moment , but the Manual for these models is very poor, We are told what the facilities and buttons are for, but the manual does nothing to explain how to do things. It has obviously been written by a programmer who takes these things as already known and not from a users point of view.
Being the past owner of Korg i3 & i30 plus the Roland EM2000 I still own, both these companies provide very good explanations in the user manuals of how to do things. Korg even takes you through examples.
Thankfully Robby's 9000 web site although German provides pdf files in English to download which takes you through ways of getting there.

Graham:
I concur wholeheartedly. I love the K/B, but I think the manual falls short of explanations on some of the more advanced features. A lot of guess work on our part is required in some instances. I am also having trouble making the "Parameter Block" function work. If I want certain settings to stay unchanged, it can't be done for the lack of this feature. Do you have the same problem?
Regards,

Mario

Mario. I do in fact have the parameter set to lock ON on my 9000Pro, but I do not fully understand what it is or is not supposed to lock, I assume its locks the user key split points and touch settings or is there more to it?
Perhaps another 9000 owner forum member can give us more input?.
I do like to delve heavily into any board I am using. My other board the Roland EM2000 like the G1000 is not really user friendly, yet I have found after a short introduction that I can do most things with it and it is a joy to use.
The 9000 is easy to play and an ideal board to play on the fly, but as we have found it makes its-self elusive with its very poor manual if one wishes to do that little bit more.

I don't have the 9000 anymore, but there is a list of parameters that can be "locked" or unlocked. You have to go to that menu and check the ones you want to lock.

Don:
Too bad you don't have the Pro anymore. Do you remember this feature working for you? Did you have the original OS version on the PRO? Maybe they screwd up when they re-wrote the newer version 2.01. All Iknow is that I can't get this feature to work on my K/B with the latest version.
Thanks

I had the 900, not the pro, but yes, the feature worked as is was supposed to.
