I have Yamaha DGX-200 and I want to buy some new arranger. I want play it only at home maybe sometimes later I go outside with it...
I have tried only yamaha psr-1500. So I dont know how roland sounds live.

they seem both very good,both the yamaha and the roland display notation and have many features. I would go for the E-50, I think it has the sounds of the Roland XV modules....great sounds. Also,the e-50 features even a touch screen. In the UK the E-50 can be found for £ 588,which is even cheaper than the PSR1500

I can tell you the Yamaha has an easy to operate keyboard.

I don't know about the E-50. Can someone tell me how you pick solo voices? Is it quick and easy as on the Yamaha or is it the old press a few buttons and scroll around til you find what you want? Is there registration memory buttons. How do you choose styles?

best thing to do is to download the manual of both keyboards. The E-50 touch-screen should be even easier to operate than the PSR1500...in any case,the Roland's sound would make it an hard contender

is a big difference between the two. IMO, the E50 styles and sounds are very advanced and modern, while psr1500 is after all 2-3 years old. now, of course, that depends also if you like batter the yamaha styles or roland's. but i can tell you, after playing both, i would pick E50 at any time!

to change/choose a sound on E60 is a two step thing. first, press the section (left, right1, right2) button and then press the sound family button. the last sound you used from that family is selected, and at the same time the screen displays 10 sounds (= one page). it's very easy to pick a sound or another page, because you just press what you see on the screen - is very handy!
the styles are about the same: press a family button, and the displays shows 10 styles to pick from or the other pages to go to.
for me, i think E50 OS is about as simple to use as yamaha's psr. a little bit more complicated with the user programs / registry, but not a big deal.

I concur with the observations made both by santantoni and adimatis regarding the o/s and features,having had aTyros 2 I now have the Roland E80 coupled to my Psr3000 and find navigation even on the fly is as straight forward as Yamaha, apart from as already stated the user programmes and file system which does take some getting use to.It is important that you give both boards a through audition as the sounds and styles on both boards are good,it is only now some three months after purchase of my E80 that for me I know my choice was the right one.The Roland and Yamaha are really to different animals and is does take time to really appreciate and enjoy what both boards can offer,In the end it will come down to, what board will fulfil your musical needs.

For me the Yamaha styles sound more natural, but this is very personal. I would go with PSR-S500 probably myself.

That's a good suggestion. Unless you are getting a really good deal on the PSR1500, I would compare the new Roland E50 with the new Yamaha PSR-S700.
