I just bought a new 8 MB Flash Card for my X1, surprisingly it came with a good sound bank pre-loaded on it. Is there any way I can save this sound bank from the Card to the HD for future use? I have to erase the existing bank as I need the Card for another sound bank.

Maged, It has been my experience that you cannot copy the sounds from the flash card to the hard drive. You can save from the hard drive to the flash card, but i don't think you can go the other way. I used to try this with the arabic card Ketron sells for the X1, but couldn't do it. Finally, when Ketron came out with the X1oriental, the sounds were saved in the hard drive and then loaded into ram each time you turned on the keyboard so I was able to copy these to disks and load them into other X1's that people wanted to turn into oriental versions. No luck though taking the sounds off the Flash Rom card. George Kaye kaye's Music Scene

Hi Maged, yes you are part of that group now and I replied to your post.
By the way I did not say don't invest in the X1...I said don't invest in the FLASH card of the X1. I love my X1 just like u do, I just never had a reliable Flash Card. See u in Yahoo
I use a flash card with optional soundbanks and never had a failure on my X4.

You are lucky Matias...I guess its a matter of how u use it and what u mean with reliable.
My trouble was that some of the sounds always had back ground noises, and when ever i switch from style on card to style on RAM (while palying non stop) the X1 seems to freeze. I could not afford that in live performances.
Mosiqaar, Reading your description of the problems makes me realize that I was lucky. I never had background noise problems or freezing, which of course would be annoying... -- José.

Matias do u use the Card along with sounds in RAM ? do u use patterns that end up using drum kits from both card and RAM? I am curious because everyone else who I talked to on the flash card on the X1 seemed to have problems as well.
Maybe there's a difference in the way we are using the flash card. Until now I've been using the card to store adicional soundbanks with ONLY sounds (no drum kits). As far as I can remember, the only time I made use of styles with adicional drum kits, I was storing them in the RAM (not in the flash card). That could explain why we have different impressions on the reliability of the flash card. I will try to use the card in the same way you do and will tell about the results.
