The whole point of key transposing is so that you can PLAY (and THINK) in one key, while it actually SOUNDS in another. The only reason I could possibly think of for the display showing what is sounding, rather than what you 'played' is for someone reading over your shoulder with a non-transposed instrument, otherwise, it is just going to throw you off your 'thinking'.
I'm sorry, but this just sounds like one of those 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' features!
