Hi Bebop,
that is terrible.
Unfortunately I know exactly how the family feels. We've been thru it.
My husband ended up paralized from the waist down 30 years ago thru a work related accident. Fell 30 ft thru a factory roof & broke his back. Our children at the time were 1 & 4 years old.
2 years later from his wheelchair, we started up a building company & he worked right up till 2004, when he became seriously ill & spent 8 months in hospital.
( you may remember the saga through the Technics forum)
Being in a wheelchair is not the end of the world, though it may seem so at the time.
All the best to ED & Barbara.
best wishes
Rikki

Riki,
Really sorry to hear of your family misfortune. Hope your hub is rapidly improving and soon back to normal.
I also received an email from a member up in PA whose youngest daughter hit some black Ice on her way back to school, wrecked the car, took them an hour to cut her out of it, 4 hours of surgery on broken back, and now paralized from waist down.
Things can always be worse but sometimes not much worse.
We need to send our prayers out for Ed and his daughter Barbara for her miracle.
Best to all,
Bebop
