I listen to the 500 again, and I think the sound engine is the same, I think it was mislead from the tech, but i could be wrong, it sounds identical to the PA800. I haven't recorded both to see exactly, The key feel is not on par with the 800, it had that cheaper key feel, all other functions are in there, I would say if you gigged with a PA 800, and went back the next day with a 500, i don;t think a sould would hear any difference other than the vocalizer missing BTW the 500 is very light, you would probably need weights so it doesn't blow away ------------------ Frank@audioworksct.com KETRON KORG SAMSON RCF DB" TARGET=_blank>www.Audioworksct.com 888.374.6076 Frank@audioworksct.com KETRON KORG SAMSON RCF DB TECHNOLOGIES AUDIO-TECHNICA BEHRINGER MACKIE FBT MUSIC PADPRO

oki, i admit it! i exagerated just to make my point! diki, you're right - i only wanted to point out that cheaper instruments from the same series, E or PA for that matter, MUST have something missing...... maybe some features, maybe some sounds/styles, maybe both. if pa500 proves to be the same as pa800, sound wise, i think i could live without having the complete set of functions..... hopefully the situation is the same like it was with pa50, having the same sounds as pa80, minus some features. i think i could play pa500 happily.......
