My studio door won't stay open, and I was thinking this board may be perfect ..leaning against the door..to keep it from closing..What do you guys think?

It only weighs about 33 pounds...My G70 is too big and heavy...

You might want to consider a Hammond XK-3c.

It's 5 lbs. less than your G-70, has 3 sets of physical Drawbars, 9-Upper, 9-Lower, 2-Pedal, "2" MIDI IN with a "THRU", Assignable controller for MIDI instrument: Upper 1,2,3, Lower 1,2, Pedal, on/off, Value knobs, Panel Control: Reverb, Manual bass, Split, User (pedal sustain), Demo. It has "73" Keys with Velocity (waterfall no less ) 6 more Reverb Modes than the C1, Pitch Bend, Modulation Wheel, (No USB) BUT a CompactFlash Card slot, etc., etc..

Oh, and you'll pay about $500.00 less.

But Hey! If you want a dual manual than I suppose the C1 is the way to go. >> We report, you decide..

Fran, you're a sick man.

What you really need a C1 midi controller. Then you could midi up your g70 and e60 and just go ape sh$% on stage. I think it would be great for you to have all three keyboards on stage.

Actually, a C1 is a one serious drawbar clone. For me, its biggest drawback is the lack of physical drawbars. Otherwise, I hear it's one helluva board. But then, what do I know?

Good choice, Fran, the Nord C1 is a kickin' clonewheel...absolutely killer B3 emulation, and one of the best Leslie sims of the bunch...it does Hammond sounds even better than, dare say, your G70.

AND....it's RED! You be lookin' soooo snappy!!

Fran, based on your recommendations, I'm ordering a C-1 today. And, I won't be using it for a doorstop. That's what I'll do with this damn G-70. What a piece of crap! Chas and I will be the outsiders here, I guess.

A place I'm quite familiar (and comfortable) with. Actually, I think Fran is just trying to pull my chain. This is the second post in the last week that's been aimed in my direction. It's okay. I'm happy to see he's thinking about me . As far as the C1 is concerned, I've seen dozens of reviews and all have been not only positive, but actually enthusiastic. I'll start to worry when I see it panned by someone who can actually play an organ (or any other keyboard, for that matter).

Russ (and anyone else needing an inexpensive, well-built, super-stable, flexible, portable, KB stand that will accommodate a large pedalboard (PK7a), I highly recommend the OnStage KS7150.
There is a 2nd-tier accessory, the KSA7500, available for it (29.00) that works but is a little cumbersome. There is also a mic stand accessory made for it, that works but does not extend far enough out from the main stand.

BTW, the Nord C1 was not designed to be used as an occasional extra voice in an arranger setup. I think the design goal was to make a lightweight B3 clone. Therefore it's use would be wherever one would normally use a B3. Since weight seems to be such an issue with arranger players, I doubt if many of you would be humping around a 400lb "B". This instrument is probably impractical to schlep around as the sound source for a single instrument (unless it's your primary instrument). An on-board "organ" voice or even a dedicated organ module would probably be much more practical in an arranger setting.

Fran, since there are only 2 or 3 organ players on this board, it is unlikely that anyone other than these people would be interested in the C1 anyway, so your efforts are being wasted. I suggest you go back to 'ragging' on Yamahas (unless, of course, your post wasn't REALLY about the Nord).
