Every organ player I know would laugh him off the stage. Wish he'd picked some other clonewheel to demo. JMO.

I think that demo on the Nord was less than what Katz is capable of.

Chas, I do not dislike you..for some reason ..I sorta like you..

I wasn't baiting you...I thought you were offering a demo so we would "Luv" your playing compared to the Katz dude...Your words..

I would love to check you out some day, and a few others...but band commitments make it impossible..

The C1 is a fine instrument, I like the sounds [organ], but do not like the absence of real draw bars....Big deal..my opinion only...

I had reservations about Miami Mo's credibility.....and the dude showed us .."He has the goods"...

Who knows...maybe you do too...

If you are worried about sharing your email address...no problem..you could post it on a share site..and post the link...

If not..that will be fine...we all will understand....honest..........and we won't "Luv" ya..

Steve, I read your pre-edited post and appreciate the edited version. I must admit that I am not familiar with Bruce's body of work and I can see that has played with some heavy hitters so I'm guessing that he's probably better than one would guess watching that YouTube clip. But based on that clip, even you thought that it might not be the best representation of his playing ability. (On that clip) he sounded (to me) like the Jerry Lee Lewis of the organ. I don't like JLL either and he's probably in the rock 'n roll hall of fame (probably in the pedophile hall of fame, as well). Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

For what it's worth, I was not the one who made the comment of XK3 vs C1. Not that it matters anyway.

Hey, whatever happened to the doorstop idea?

I did not comment on how good the 'you tube' video was, but what I thought of the guy having seen him in person ... Maybe I caught him on a great night, or two, or three ...

For all I know, he is NOT AS GOOD as you, but then I guess I'll never know that unless I come to Atlanta ... Perhaps someday ...

Tony, I thought I explained my comments about Bruce in my response to Steve. Maybe you missed it. Anyway, I appreciate your efforts on Fran's behalf to again try to bait me into posting. Not only won't I do it, but I'm getting a little tired of being on the receiving end of what appears to be a growing gangbang. Just remember who started this thread and why.

If you want me to apologize for disagreeing with you about Bruce's talent (based on the video), then fine, sorry. But then again, YOU probably don't like Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes, Jimmy McGriff, Don Patterson, Johnny "Hammond" Smith, Charlie Earland, and the many other great and near-great organ players out of the Philly area that I grew up with and was influenced by. As I see it, if you don't like the (admittedly retro) style of organ playing represented by these guys (but like Bruce Katz), it's a pretty safe bet that you're not going to like me either.

Why don't we just agree that I'm a lousy musician and a lousy player and let it go at that. At least then I'll be able to speak with the same authority as my peers.

Boring Nowhere near the quality of Korg (IMO).

Didn't need it, I guess. Mostly the hot wind coming from our two 'gangbangers' is keeping it propped open

BTW, Donny, isn't it about time you baited Fran into posting another of his works...? People are actually taking him seriously, again (this thread, for instance).

BTW, the NEXT factory demo I hear posted without full credit is going to make MANY of us wonder where the ethics and honesty on this forum is heading. I remember the furor about CraigUK's little guitar cribbing episode. Maybe a little different (he actually DID claim it was him!), but posting a factory demo, and not mentioning, after people congratulate you on your playing, that it WASN'T you is, IMO, nearly as bad.

Unless, of course, you actually consider pressing 'PLAY' "playing"...

The S900's organs don't have to be boring if you work with them a little ...the factory preset drawbar settings are pretty good starting points if you don't want to start from scratch.

Judicial use of chorus, and setting the rotary speaker to Rotary Speaker #5 goes a long way in making them more palatable...of course this will involve delving into the keyboard...something some people don't want to get into.

One thing for sure...it is not in the same league as the Nord C1....but, the S900 organ settings I programmed work very well for my needs and in my opinion, sound at least on par with the Korg and Roland.
