I have spent a week going through all the styles on my PA1X trying to match up styles with my gig sets and find that not many of the styles on my hard drive are a very good match. I play country, 30,s, 40,s and 50,s swing and big band type gigs.

I was hoping someone who reads this might know of a good source for these type of styles.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Hammer

Thanks to all who have responded - I will try all of these and post my results. It is really great to have a community support group when you get a new keyboard.

Hope you have better luck than I did finding suitable styles.

Hi Don,

Yeah - the styles have been a big disappontment so far - the PA1X sounds awesome and it is a good board. I have spent many hours going through any style I can get my hands on - lots of time. One thing Don - the jazz and latin styles will blow you away - really outstanding. I like the keyboard and will be disappointed if I have to replace it because of the style thing.

Some of the folks have emailed me styles today so we shall see.

It sure would have made my life easier had PSR3000. It looks like even the ones I am finding that might work will need at least one or two of the STS voices changed. Lot of work when you pay this much for a arranger. It really is a shame because the thing sounds awesome and is very well built. I will keep at it and see how it goes.

Hi Rikki,

Yes, I have been to those sites - I had to wait a week for my keyboard and while it was being shipped I downloaded a ton of styles anywhere I could find them.

The problem is that I played many years with 12-18 piece big bands and have also played with two major symphonies and I am very criticle of how things sound. It seems strange to me to have a "big band" style going and all of a sudden you have a jazz organ pop up. When is the last time you heard a jazz organ in a Stan Kenton or Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, etc. recording?

Anyway, I will work it out.
Thanks for the heads up though.
