Any word on when we can expect the new Yamaha flagship?

I'm gettin' a little antsy, they do seem to be taking their time. How long is it normally from one model to the next? Maybe some of the dealers with connections to Yamaha could shed a little light?

Ian , your input is needed

Donny , yes the T-2 is selling very well , however it is still old for a KB.

It`s getting very hard to find IDE HD`s and PC-133 ram.

Or is my google broke !!

PS:
It could very well be the last Tyros , maybe something different ?

You guys know how long I'be been around here and my prediction is that we will have a replacement by the end of 2008! Let's see if I'm right. I've been pretty good over the years.

As you guys know, I'm pretty unimpressed with some of the sounds on the Yamaha - mainly the drums and bass. I've decided that the disadvantages of the Korg are too much for me to handle, so I'm considering to:

1) wait for the new Yamaha T3, or
2) wait for the new Motif Rack XS to use as a voice module (they say it should be out any time now), or
3) not to wait at all and use the Motif Rack ES

Maybe, if it's just Bass and Drums that disappoint, a couple of modules from another manufacturer would give a better change of timbre than another from the same?

I've heard of some using Roland TD-series drum modules on arrangers, for that G70 'live drum' sound (it's what's built-in to a Roland G70/E80) and there ARE some bass sounds built in to those... Perhaps they might suit you enough if added alongside the Yamaha basses.

Having auditioned MotifES and XS, I must say I thought their contemporary drumkits to be VERY good, but I wasn't as impressed with their acoustic kits as much as the TD-type G70 sounds... What type of drum sounds are you primarily looking for?
