The instructions on the CD ROM say to delete the contents of the G-70 "UPDATE" folder before copying the new update folder to it. It contains 20 or so files of several GB each(not KB).
Please advise
Bernie

I upgraded per instructions with plenyy of capacity. It got down to the last 20 sec and full destination message appeared. It asked for another disk, and I pressed retry. It said DJ something could not be copied. It ended and the G-70 went from writing to the normal screen. I checked the ver, and it still says 2.02 but the available memory is down to 202KB.
It sure has a bunch of something in there, so don't think the upgrade was aborted. Not only that, but in trying some of the 299 styles they say that were polished,in my estimation, they couldn't be better.
Is it possible that it is upgraded, but the version didn't change because it was not quite completed ?
It sounds that good even on one CS30. I can't wait to haul out my Bose tomorrow.
Thanks Diki, one would have to pry this from my cold dead hands.
Bernie

I was told by Roland Tech support that I must have a corrupted memory. John is sending me a disk, then I call him on his direct line, and he will talk me through blasting the memory and installing ver 3.00. He said no problem.
Thanks to everyone that has responded, and to Scott for John's number.
Bernie BTW It beat the PA800 with the band today. The layering sounded superb, even with ver 2,02

Roland guy walked me through the v3.00 install, and found a couple of corrupted files in the internal memory. We did a format and reinstall. Everything working great. John told me that V3.00 was such an improvement over v2.02, that they used it in the E60 and E80. Support will be guaranteed for a long time to come(however long that is with today's technology). Roland went through the entire styles and sounds, further tweaking them, and adding new ones.
Thanks Zuki Bernie
