Well, thanks to all the comments on my last logo post ( http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/017375.html ), I now have two more to choose from. I think they are an improvement on the last run, but I figured I'd get the opinion of the experts here at the SZ!

Thanks, Chony

I like the 2nd one. The first one reminds me of Pac Man chewing up a keyboard.

Well, the second one looks like one of the suggestions I had made, except that to make the 'O' stand out more, I would have made the letters of your name a different color and used that color for the 'O' in the clef ...

That being said, I really like the first one ..... very classy ....

The second one still has the clef...and it still doesn't look like "CHONY".

The first one is nice...but the shape of the keys on the letter "C" could be better integrated...it still is a good idea just the same.

Hi Chony,

Are these logos for promoting yourself as an arranger keyboard entertainer or to promote your studio produced music?

Either way, it's not clear (to me) from the logo what you're actually selling/promoting. When I read the words "orchestras" and "studios" it gives me the impression that you have a corporation which owns traditional classical orchestras and studios, and that your studios are traditional large sound stages available for rental in NYC or Hollywood.

That said, I prefer the 2nd logo design concept better, but if I didn't already know you to be Chony, I'd think the 2nd one looks like a company CH & NY with a treble clef stuck between the initials. That said, my suggestion is to maintain the exact same font for the "O" that you used for CH & NY, and have the treble clef design simply added on to the solid "O", but perhaps darker greyed out white to differencite it from the "O", as I believe it's important to keep all leters in your NAME distinctively separate for easy reading and to ensure easy memorable name recognition. Your name is your calling card afterall. Just my opinion of course. Scott

I'm not a professional, in fact my audience rarely gets past one, "me" in my little home studio. However, as an opinion, I prefer the first, it appears elegant and complete, whereas the treble clef in the second, disrupts the flow of the eye.
Whether the right message is getting through (see Scotty above) I leave to you and others.
Keith

LOL that was bothering me too! But I didn't quite think of the PacMan connection!

Scott, for some reason, in the community where I perform they call wedding bands "orchestras". Also, many of the jobs I do are actually larger type bands with 6 or 7 instruments. In addition, I've opened a recording studio which seems to be taking off pretty well, so I figured I'd advertise for both together.

Like others here, I also have mixed opinions about these logos ; there are things from each one that I like and dislike. However I think I'm going to just go with one of these before I bust the bank.

Well i really like the pacman c from the first one... i just don't like teh rest of the first one....

Maybe you could let the pacman C eat the hony part... so the H and the O would be inside the C and in the same color...

And make the

Orchestras
& Studios

in two lines starting under the first C note from the right of pac man (did you notice the first 3 black keys... there is two times 3 to start with) and moving slightly upwards..

I love my logo's a little bit more playfull

#2 looks ready to go, although some might see it as CH-NY with a key signature in between. I like it a lot.

#1 has some possibilities. The C is way too big and so is the logo. I like the idea of incorporating the C into your name. I like the graphics on the large C but the logo needs something - maybe placing the large C behind your name or something like that.

I'd look to taking the "Chony" and putting it inside the "C" graphic. As it is, when " 1 is reduced, the type would be too small to be effective on, say a return envelope.

Also, the blue is not an "out of the can" blue, so you've got a 4 color process job if you do conventional printing. If you do limited quantity digital printing-no problem, other than a reduction in quality.

# 2 is better, application wise, but the note for the "o" is a real problem, i think.

Good effort,

R.
