Does anyone know of a site for VA7/76 users similar to the Yamaha PSR groups? I'd like to get some fresh ideas for my VA7. Seems like interest in the VA series has dried up. I hope I'm wrong.

Tim

Nigel,

Thanks for the reminder.
Yes, I am aware of those links. However, by no fault of your's, those sites are not being updated and have old information that is months and even years old. I was hoping for something fresh for my VA7. I guess it's not out there.

Hi Tim,
I found the same problem. I bought my VA7 secondhand a few months ago.
The Yahoo VA7 group doesn't appear to do many posts anymore.
I also joined the following http://www.daytonamusic.com/rag/download.htm
only found the occasional post.

Bit dissapointing on the whole.

best wishes
Rikki

If you do find a more active VA7/VA76 group please let us know so I can add it to the listing at Synth Zone.

Even the Roland arranger forum here is pretty dead and I have been thinking about taking it offline due to lack of interest.

hi,
i think the reason for low posts on this
and other related va sites:
1. this is an expensive keyboard compared
to the pa 80, yamaha psr series.not every
one is willing to pay this much.
2. its only sold by certain dealers as
opposed to pro dealers. i had a hard time trying to locate a dealer. i bought two
(va76, sold it, then bought a va7). its
on back order. so that tells you something.
3. if you notice the other forums, its always
questions about problems with these keyboards and the other part is general chit
chat.
4. i too find this interesting about the low post. maybe its because those that have this keyboard have very little problems or complaints to post. or the simple fact that there arn't as many owners compared to the yamaha or korg etc. however, i've used roland as part of my
setup for years. some of my best recordings
involved a old d20 synth sequences. so i wouldn't worry. the va series has its drawbacks, but as with any roland product
(usually a high learning curve) i found
the va can be a very creative tool that can be used for years to come. remember, its all
a matter of individual preference and needs
when it comes to using these keyboards.

Hi Nigel,
I suppose when you look at the size of some of the other arranger forums like the Technics, with 11,000 plus members and then you have only 400 or so in the Roland arranger forum, it's probably no wonder the posts are few and far between.

Maybe it's because the Roland arrangers aren't as popular as the other brands. I own a VA-7 that is in mint condition. That's because I have hardly ever played it.

I really should sell it since it pains me to see it sitting around gathering dust (while I play my PSR2000)

If anyone might be interested, email me.

Tom G.
Also a member of R-A-G, and even Steen's Arranger Forum from my old E-96 days.

But it's a Catch 22 isn't it. There are only a lot of messages if a lot of people use a forum. If they don't use it then there won't be a lot of messages which in turn doesn't attract new users.

The only reason the Technics forum surged is because BEBOP the moderator had a personal Technics Users email list and after contacting me then suggested on his list that they start using the Synth Zone Technics forum as their new home. Until then the Technics forum was almost dead and much quieter than the Roland Arranger Forum.
