What is the best looking keyboard ?

Keep in mind, only looks, not the sound, controll options, keyboard feel or size...

Which one looks best ?

I'd personally think that The Roland Phantom G looks best of all...and that the Korg PA2X Pro is the best looking arranger keyboard.

I second that emotion, the G 1000.

PSR-8000 followed closely by the PSR-S900.

Nice to look at...even nicer play.

True...should be on all keyboards...very handy.

You mean the G70 or G1000 don't have them?

If not, it is more of Roland's lack of attention to intelligent design...tsk tsk!

I'm assuming you mean 'modern' keyboards, otherwise I'd say a 'B3' flanked by two leslies. The truth is, to the general public, I don't think any of them look good. I think the (non-musician) public regards synths (and their brethren) as some kind of fake something-or-other, and don't take them seriously as a legitimate musical instrument. I think the closest you'd come would be a few well-heeled retirees either in Florida or on their way there (possibly in a very large motorhome), who still admire a well-lighted, many-buttoned, 25-pedaled, TOTL home organ (preferably with a slot for the cassette tape).

On a personal level, I could never warm up to the drum icons on the Yammys. To me, it's like putting one of those paper overlays (that show key names) on a Bosendoefer.

Just another point of view (Ian).

No problem, Chas...I like them...they are very convenient....they are above the keys on my S900...even better!

I love the look of a B3 as well...a real classic.

Careful, Donny, you're starting to sound like John McCain ('my friends' this, 'my friends' that ).

Still, I think you may have veered away from the intent of the post. He only asked which one you thought looked best, NOT whether looks was important. In fact, it may (or may not) be, but that's another question.

With all due respect, I rather enjoy people coming up to the G-70, with all the flashing lights, and exclaiming "what a beautiful instrument". I realize that it is only smoke and mirrors, but then, so are some other facets of entertainment. If I were playing a midi'd kazoo with the same sounds, I believe the effect would not be quite the same.

I know, it is all in the sound.

I'd probably vote for some of the great cathedral organs as some of the most aesthetic works of art that can be played, as well...

There have been some amazing custom grand pianos built, that also stand as works of art. Check out http://www.pianomax.com/ for some of these.

I purposely kept the B3 off my list because I thought the topic was about KETBOARDS. But if the B3 qualifies, it definitely goes to the top of the list. Add those two 122's and it THE BEST looking keyboard. But now you have to include the 11 ft. Steinway I used to play in college.

btw - it was on an auditorium stage and a friend and I used to eat our lunches there, then write songs before our next class. What a great memory.

OK I apologize for the drift, but I think we can come up with more substance besides looks when talking about arrangers couldn't we?
Boy something new better come out soon all this around & around repetitious rhetoric is getting old.

we could say the same about the opposite sex but then the species would probably die out, the only procreation taking place shortly after 2:00am (coyote time).
