There are some, one might say, striking similarities.

It is truly amazing to behold Roland's advances in arranger development during the past 20 years.

Terrible demo. They'll have a hard time selling it for $699 if that's all they can show. The Juno Stage 76 demo isn't much better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnraS0lhwhg&feature=related

Roland must want their new products to fail-otherwise why would they allow such an incompitant bafoon to demonstate them?

Thing is demos like this make all arrangers look bad. Its not just an aweful demo. The instrument itrself sounds dare i say it just like the original g70 sounded when it was just launched. Even Gm sounds (in the normal sense) are better than what i have just heard coming from the Gw8.

I am glad I am NOT the only one that say that is probably one of the WORSE Demos I ever heard, and to show it in a NAMM show, shame on Roland.
When I did demos in Organs at the AOAI and some other shows, and some manufacturers in the Midwest, not even in a bad day and with only one hand I ever sounded like that.
Roland NEEDS !!! to hire ARRANGER specialist, not regular workstations players. ( I am NOT asking for a job either).

Like I said in a previous post, There are 2 types of Demos, one to "Flash and Dash" (Lots or personal skills and squeeze the best features of the product/arranger) to impress possible buyers, and, the other is more like a Clinic/Seminar (more technical) to show the sales persons how to Demo the arrangers, well, this demo was neither.
This is what can turn "on" or OFF a listener/buyer, besides, in the "demo", the "Latin" concept is Misused, not because it has a Merengue (not that great) means is "loaded" with Latin styles.
VERY POOR Demo.

Its more of a Bad Demonstrator versus a bad Instrument in this case. I still blame the manufacturer for not being responsible to use the best in personnel to show off these units.
