IMO all they have to do is MERGE the two technologies we have already......
Arranger & Synth workstations....so that you can work easily to MIX, styles, loops, arpegiators, vst's, etc, etc, in ANYWAY YOU CHOOSE to create your own styles, or songs, or sequences in an "ALL IN ONE LIGHTWEIGHT UNIT.......& most importantly MAKE IT EASY TO DO FOR EVERYONE on board.

I am going to Best Buy and ask one of their salespeople what they think ...

For me, it's always been about authenticity of sound. Nothing more or less... It will never be what the keyboard is called, an arranger or workstation...

But what if I just don't want "old"? I would love to have my E-80 loaded with only pop, rock, contemporary, funk, jazzrock, fusion styles. All the ballroom, latin, walzes, 50's, you can have it, I don't want it.

Besides, a manufacturer as Roland already does this: Check the GW-E, the GW-L... same keyboards, loaded with different stylesets for different markets.

So who says "different markets" is a area-bound-thing? Why can't I choose between an arranger loaded with "OS 2.0 - Contemporary-Present" and one with "OS 2.0 - Old Farts Edition" ? :-)

Burkels...exactly then you either delete the styles you dont want.....load the styles YOU want.......& CREATE your OWN STYLES easy on board if they start making it easier. Then who cares what styles they come with.

I said it before .."a style is a style"..

If you own a Roland..load up the styles for your "modern" music....then set up User Programs..using the selected "modern" styles...Name the user program to reflect the "modern style"..Done..

You never ..ever have to select the factory styles again..

For those of us that pay our bills with the "old" stuff..we have the best of both worlds...

Yep.. a style is just a style...
