I had a wonderful experience just yesterday. I played a few tunes in front of 24 poeple. All students of keyboards. It didn't go well but that's life isn't it?

They're used to portable keyboards so they were easily impressed and perhaps didn't notice the sheer overload of bass my speakers were only just dealing with. For me it was a tad painful. lol.

The XP as we know can be clean but in this case the sounds I'd selected from my session and Vintage boards simply had too much bass combined.

What I'd like to know is, is this a common problem? Has anyone here used the XP60 with no external devices other than PA, for a gig or a session?

i use the xp80 all the time with no external devices. What kind of PA is it that you didn't have any eq on your PA? Any decent PA has some general eq.

Very Good point. I was using Bose desktop monitors but without the bass-bin for portability reasons. Can I ask what you use?

Are you telling me you used no kind of mixer at all? Just came out of the keyboard into the speakers? In that case, I've never done anything that simplified. By external devices I thought you meant external eq or effects units, compressors, etc. I wasn't thinking about not even using a mixer. I always use some kind of mixer.
