I aborted a running sequence by choosing the next song from the floppy disc. The XP-50 stopped playing and didn't accept any key. I switched it off and after turning it on again I got a message that the user memory is damaged. It is only possible to hear the GM sounds but no user and no sounds from my extension boards. Please help me !!!
Many thanx.
Andi

Try reinitializing the entire unit to its factory presets.

This happened to me with my Xp50 when I had one. I would usually go back an initiallize everything as DN instructed.

On the other hand, this doens't always work and is a very serious problem.

If your XP50 has a serial number between 0 and 25000, then your XP50 has Flash ROM. You can download an OS upgrade from the Roland Denmark site (www.roland.dk). Just copy the downloaded file to a blank floppy, put it in the disk drive and then turn onthe XP50, the XP50 will write the OS and repair itself.

The Infamous EPU.

Many thanks for your replies.
I have resetted the user bank to the factory presets. My problem now is how to get back my old sounds. Unfortunately I haven't saved them. I bought the XP50 second hand and the user memory was filled with the sounds of the JV2080. I'm missing a sound called 'Feed me' which emulates an overdriven guitar. From where can I get my sound(s) back ?

Regards,
Andi

Hi, Andi

You can download the JV2080 Preset E Bank at Lilchips: http://www.lilchips.com/roland/synths/jvxp/patches.asp
