The musical difference for me is: I play arranger style only. It took me 6 months before I introduced this to my audience (I know, some go out the next day with their new toy). I am particular and specific in my songs - everything has to be perfect (I'm just that way). Every completed song on this board is different from the next. This is what I find enjoyable. I can do patriotic with marches and sort and they sound as if from a different board - fantastic. I can do country and this board sounds like the real deal. I can do big band and it is superb. (Let me say, a serenade style for Moonlight Serenade will not take a back seat vs the recent T3 demo). Use the same serenade style for Aint Misbehavin', use different variations and fills, come in with a trombone lead and it blow your mind. Worked out A-Train. Check out the aritculated vibes that work throughout the style. Worked out All Of Me - the beautiful swing organ knocks my socks off. On Night and Day, I mimicked Frank Sinatra's string version - it makes me wanna cry - talk about elegance Lay out Just The Way, Your Song and other slower work and they are equally as soft and beautiful. Next, I jump to Queen's Thing Called Love and it plain out rocks, as do other uptempo. Did I mention they all sound different? I figure that when I have a song perfected, it's always going to be top notch. I don't just throw something to the wind as good enough. 1. We've talked about drums. The drums are awesome, no doubt, but it's more than that. It's the total makeup of a style - the richness, fullness, articulated instrumentation and incredible flexibility withing variations, intros and endings. 2. The harmonizer - it works like a charm and it is available with the touch at all times. Mine is programmed to stay on or off with each key stroke. 3. The sounds - subjective. Great enough. 4. Keybed - very good enough for me. 5. On board speakers - can I say more - some like, some not. 6. Pads - useable and linked in time, at all times. I can go on and on. It's been hashed out many times before. Everyone has their own ears. I'm of a handful that plays live with the 800 and different for me has been good. Have fun everyone with what you choose. zuki

I forgot to mention..a few days ago I played the new Roland Juno Stage (76 keys).. The stage has all the goodies from the Juno G, and many goodies of it's own... First off..the key feel is much better than the Juno G (I hated playing my Juno G)..Roland added metal weights under the keys..reminds me of the older workstations..D-70, JV1000, and XP80...I may as well add the Fantom X....since I owned all of them... The compact size and 76 keys are a plus..at 21 pounds.. The display is nicer than the Juno G.. The added goodies are the mic with phantom power...MP3/wav/midi player...999 songs, I believe...It did not read my thumb drive folders..only the non folder tunes..unlike the Roland RD700gx..that unit read every folder and sub folder..same with the 300gx.. The Stage makes a decent controller for the studio too..it has a single button push to make it a USB controller... It is a shame that Roland did not include a USB Audio interface to go with the USB MIDI interface...as the Sonic Cell has... When I put my E-60 on Ebay ..I was considering the Juno Stage and GW8...after playing the Stage and reading the manuals including the GW...I am thoroughly convinced the E-60 to be superior over both...save the MP3/Wave player..the E-60 is better in every other feature... Of course the E-60 lacks the mic input too.. key feel and playability is slightly better on the E compared to the Stage.. The E-60 is 7 pounds more with a touch screen and speakers.. The lyric read and make up tools..makes the E-60 much..much more desirable.. And the one feature that I keep going back to the E-60..the drum kits are simply the best... After I played the Stage...it made me more reluctant to sell the E-60.. Thanks Diki, and Bart..for the reminder..
