This is why I bought an Arranger. Playing all the parts takes far too long.
http://www.box.net/shared/af42iryv8p

Used a Triton Classic 61, Proteus 2000, Roland U220, ALesis QSR, D5,

Rode NT2 Joe Meek VCQ 1 Preamp.

Nowo one keyboard will handle it all. I would love to rerecord this using the T3 voices only, but I cannot find the sequence, Its burried in some hard drive somewhere.

But isn't that why you bought an arranger...

So you don't HAVE to use SMF's?

Just kidding (a bit!), Kingfrog... nicely done. Very Neil Diamond.

You MIGHT want to place a de-esser on that mike, or at least on the send to the reverb. That might mitigate some of that sibilance that rings out from time to time...

But very nice... I enjoyed this one. Can't wait for something from the T3.

Very nice ... of course Neil Diamond comes to mind immediately ... As I had asked Manny about his 'Elvis' voice, is that your natural voice/style, or are you trying to sound like Neil ? ... either way, it sounds good ... I would expect you to do a "Diamond Tribute' in your 'shows ?!? ....

Thanks guys....Thats why I am now using Arrangers, I don't want to write and play all the parts anymore. Pro Arrangements have to be better. BTW I view critisism as Fertilizer.....it may stink but sure does help the plants grow!!!! You are right about the vocals I should have spent more time and less reverb. But that was a few years ago Im still learning. With the Arranger I will be able to spend more time on vocals and less on the music (I hope that was kinda the idea)

As far as the Neil thing goes thats why my defense of Karaoke in the SMF vs Arranger forum. I always had that sound and it began at a Karaoke show in the mid 80's (when 8track tapes were the norm. I was told I sounded and phrased everything like ND. IWAS NOT EVEN A FAN of his and considered this an insult...LOL to make a long long story short I mademy living for the 12 years working in a Nationally recognized Tribute show and for many producers.

Its what I sound like. I don't care for it but it paid for my house and retirement. I quit three yeasr ago and married one of the keyboard players in one of the bands contracted to back us up. I did the sequence on a Triton while on a Crusie ship for 6 months and spread the voices around when I got home over 5 other modules....

Now I sold everything and just use one..
Thats why I defend Karaoke....my wife hates it for obvious reasons...IT got me out of the corporate world and around the real world literally.

I wanted to post this as an example of a non trained self taught "by ear" player. If I hear it I can play it even if I have to slow the sequence down.

Do what you do using the tools you have to the limits of the technology and your own talent.

For me its not playing, its all about songwriting. That's my passion. If it were not for sequencers I would have much better chops.....But slow the tempo and play that pentatonic scale and sound like anyone........on a recorded medium. Live is a whole other ballgame. Id play the piano part there but track the rest on this song,

KINGFROG, I loved it!!!!

I was a huge Neil Diamond fan back in the day. I love the songwriting. Could easily be a big hit in the adult contemp market. I'd send it to Neil and pitch it.
