I played the FantomG... it's a great keyboard, but I'm not sold on the ARX cards, yet. Too little choice, not really needed, either (it already has great drums and Rhodes on board), and only two slots. They better come out with a MUCH better one (or two!) soon... And, it's a good job you have the C1, chas, because I thought ALL the organ patches sucked bigtime! Hey, before you spring for it, if demos are going to make up your mind, try this one for the MotifXS... http://files.keyfax.com/MP3s/motifator2.0/xs/Demo_Funkalicious.mp3 This is one of the best all round demos for a single keyboard I've heard in a while. Why can't Yamaha put THESE drums in the T3? Check out the realism of the bass articulations, the effects quality, the liveness of it....

Diki, I listened to the Motif XS demo and it is very good but I think I like the Roland 'sound' better, especially the drums. Also, I have a Motif ES (the XS IS a big improvement) but no recent Roland board at the moment (I have a SonicCell but that's not the same). Also, watching the (Roland) video, it seemed he was able to get around on the KB in real-time pretty well plus speeding and slowing the integrated audio samples plus great sounding drums (to me), etc., all added up to what looks and sounds like a real fun KB. BTW, on that GW8, everyone says it has the sound engine of the SonicCell or Fantom X. If that is so, then how come the SC sells for @ $895.00 and the GW8 for less? Doesn't make sense, unless there's more to the story. Anyhoo, the G7 sounds like a fun board to play funk organ over and you know how much I like funk organ. The C1 is still going to be my all-time favorite board (except for a real 'B'). I just wish Nord or someone would make a lightweight 25 pedal, B3-type pedalboard for it and maybe a add-on drawbar unit that sat on top of the C1. Ah, always dreaming. Wish I'd hit the lottery, I'd manufacture some of this stuff, maybe even an aftermarket (midi-driven) CHORD SEQUENCER for frustrated former G1000 users . Anybody want to pool some bucks for a start-up? Can you imagine a bunch of Synthzoners agreeing on ANYTHING long enough to have a successful joint venture. I don't think so. chas [This message has been edited by cgiles (edited 11-02-2008).]

Chas, If you decide to buy the Fantom G7 from AJ make sure there is a factory warranty attached to it. Sometimes I think AJ gets these "pre-release" road demo'ers that may possibly be in 'beta' form (hence the term pre-release ). Nothing against you AJ, I'm just making sure chas is aware of the situation and if the factory warranty is still binding i.e. (was it imported from Europe possibly??) and that he fully knows the ins and outs of the G7 you're trying to sell. Another consideration you may want to think about chas is that Guitar Center has had sales on the Fantom G series as recently as just a couple months ago. The price for the Fantom G7 when it was on sale at GC recently was a mind boggling $2,499. With a brand new "boxed" G7 you will be getting a brand spanking new G7 with full factory warranty and with all all the trimmings (CD, Manual, etc), and undoubtedly, it will also have the latest OS 1.10 update already installed on it too. Best, Mike PS: With the economy in the tank it may serve you well to wait until Roland gives another bonus offer on the Fantom G series instead of getting one that's second hand from AJ, and never knowing what you will be getting either, when you really think about it. Just like when you buy a second hand automobile. Do you want somebody else's trouble? Food for thought, and although I realize AJ is trustworthy, of course, he didn't own it himself and he would not really be able to give you the full details of it use or misuse. OTOH, he may indeed actually know the person who owned it, and if so, it would be worth considering because you never know for sure when that "next" big sale on the Fantom G series will materialize - if ever.
