Yamaha US now has the S550 on their site..., and there's an audio sample (I would assume this is one of the onboard demos). Sounds pretty darn good.., check out some of the eastern styles http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/ModelSeriesDetail/0,,CNTID%25253D5021560%252526CTID%25253D205500,00.html

It's supposed to sound like all the other Yamaha drums, Donny...it's the Yamaha sound...lots of people love that sound, that's why Yamaha arrangers are so popular and sell so well.

Yeah Donny.., still the same old drums. I'm sure by the time my little girl grows up Yamaha will start putting some better quality kits on these PSR's..., so she has something to look forward to

Worse part ......you cant do anything about yamaha arranger drums but change kits or eq them.....

This is why I love ROLAND makeup tools, you can Isolate any drum or piece in the kit and change pieces or totally tweak vol, velocity, etc, etc, & save it to create your own desired drum kit sound as with any sound on the KB....I'd like to see Yamaha do that ! I would'nt be laughing Ian you know I'm right

Donny I agree on the drum issue as well. The demos sound pretty decent.., as I can hear some of those good velocity switched guitars too..., but the drums are the usual Yamaha. Not the worst, but still can sound pretty dated compared to what's out there today.

As usual though.., anything related to Yamaha draws in the typical troll blow-hards who always have to twist a topic into something it's not. That's how all these topics go to shit because some blow-hard always has to jump in with a smart ass remark because they look too much into something in search of a reason to be a smartass.

Hell you can't even post a topic and say it sounds pretty darn good without some low-life twisting it into something it's not.

Tsk tsk tsk...a thread with name calling on it already...it doesn't take long for the crudeness to surface.

If you're big enough to throw your line into water and use ignorance as your bait.., then don't cry boo hoo if the fish bites back.
