I guess Peter would love a 76 note Tyros also so he could spread out a bit more......but his KB of choice seems to be the CVP.

The Tyros3 sits here next to me...keys beckoning...the organ sounds are incredible.

If Yamaha made a 76 T3 (and not an 88), Peter would be playing it! I don't honestly think you'll ever get HIM to say that anything more than 61 is a waste

Yamaha don't give the option.. but if they DID... you honestly think he would PREFER a 61?

I feel I'm very fortunate that an arranger with 61 keys does the job admirably for me.

It gives me more choices for an arranger, and in the case of the S900, a great bang for the buck 5 octave instrument, keeps my initial investment low, and allows me to get a new arranger every three years, thus dipping into the newer technology as it becomes available.

Luckily, there are 76 note arrangers available for the few that need/want them.

The old Roland G70/E60 and Korg's PA2XPRO come to mind, and seem to be doing an excellent job for the relative few who have them.

If that small niche is already covered, why would Yamaha have any incentive to make a 76 note arranger?

Strange, ain't it, that Technics did not make a 76 note portable arranger, yet many people get all misty eyed when they speak of their beloved KN's, and consider them some of the best arrangers ever made.

Exactly Diki.....I wonder how many perspective tyros buyers were held off because of the non 76 version & went to the G70 or Pa2x...I would assume there are many, its just that important to many players more so then a few sa voices.

Seems to be very few gone to the G70, if we use SZ as a guide.

The PA2XPRO seems to have fared a tad better...probably because it offers more features, and is still being supported with upgrades.

Roland sorely needs a new TOTL arranger.

There are millions of musicians around the world that dont even know sz exists.....not to mention Roland is #1 around the world.

Well, I have looked at Roland's Arranger site, and I see the same posters over and over...only a few each with G70/E80/E60.

Korg's site seems a little more populated.

I'm glad Roland is #1 in your eyes Donny...you are on a roll till the next flavor of the week/month/year comes in...then it is rinse and repeat.

In the meantime you will go out of your way to bash anything else...but, it's your way of legitimizing your present purchase.

No problem...as long as it helps you cope.

It has already been suggested to you by many of us on SZ the you should be learning how to use one arranger fully, instead of hopping around from instrument to instrument, and from brand to brand.

Of course, when one mainly uses SMF then it becomes simpler...just have to remember where the "play" button is...
