DC was pretty close on this one, but in order to make those changes permanent you will have to use the Style Creator program. Or, better yet, download a copy of Michael Bedesem's MIDI Player II program, which is very user friendly and you can do the job in a couple mouse clicks.

Good Luck,

Gary

Is the Michael Bedesem's MIDI Player II program better in any way than the VanBasco Program? And if I install the Michael Bedesem's MIDI Player II program and then it becomes my default will that make the VanBasco obsolete?

Thank you in advance, John C.

VanBasco's Midi/Karaoke player is strictly a player program that allows some minor adjustments to midi files such as the ability to transpose the file, lower the volume and turn off certain instruments.

Michael Bedesem;s MIDI Player II is a fantastic program that is essentially a tool that can be used to rework both midi files and style files. It is strictly set up for use with Yamaha Keyboards. It allows you to transpose individual style channels, change the style's voices, change individual volumes, and a host of other great features. And, you can batch convert and tune large numbers of style or midi files instead of just working on one at a time. You can revoice SMF files to your particular model of Yamaha keyboard, which makes a huge difference in the SMF's sound quality.

This is a must have program for all serious Yamaha arranger keyboard users. And, the price is right--FREE!
