How compatible are 3rd party styles in this board from previous models, or other brand arrangers? Does this new model have some sort of priority that will not allow certain parameters to work (like the newer SA, etc)?

Zuki all conversions to another KB is a crap shoot.More so when midi information has to be chosen from different sound sets. If a KB doesn't have SA voices an alternative sound must be used or what I've found is that it will leave the sound slot "BLANK" to be determined by the player.

The Tyros3 styles will not work in other Yamaha arrangers...at least not yet.

I'm sure here are conversions being attempted, although, apparently, none have been very successful.

The Tyros3 is, however, compatible with styles from the earlier arrangers, such as the Tyros1/2 and PSR-series as well as third party styles.

I've been trying them in my T3 and they work fine.

Sometimes OTS may need to be changed.

Assuming I had a T3. I deduce from your reply that all 3rd party styles from previous Yamaha boards and some other brands would be acceptable in the style area (took in account about OTS), without the need of major tweaking, including some existing specific song styles available on the PSR forum?

Yep...you deduced correctly...all the 3rd party styles I've tried so far work fine, including my own custom styles.

Still you may want to tweak a little (revoice) to take advantage of some of the new sounds.

It has been my experience that conversuons from other manufacturer's styles sometimes fare less than ideal, and may need a bit more work.

I had the chance demo at length a T3 couple of weeks ago. I like!! Do I like better than the Pa2xpro, well it's close. Will I sell my Pa2xPro for the T3, you just never know? Let's see what OS2 brings to the table. I've been using Korg for the last year and for sure it's a gigging musicians dream board, I really love the navigation thru Songbook. I do miss the the amount of support for Yamaha products. If I had to make the choice today and my money tree hadn't died I'd have both, wouldn't mind the G70 either. "It's the Same Old Song" they all have their strong points and I like each of them for what they bring to the player.

BTW I recently purchased the TC-Helicon Harmony M. Whoa, great piece of equipment, been by passing the built in TC Helicon on the Korg since making the purchase.
