Got a few more questions. Can you record things and then play them back for live performances with a band? Also, can you use the SoundDiver Software to do keyboard splits and keep them programmed in the box even after you turn it off? Does this work with layers too?
Sorry about posting so many times but I just want to make sure I'm buying something that I will regret. Thanks.

No, you cannot record and play back -- the JV 1010 does not have a sequencer. You would need an external sequencer, a disk reader, anything, but always external.

Yes, there is room for user performances (doesn't matter whether splits or layers) and it is backed up by an internal battery. But I don't remember now how many memory positions you have for that.
