Hi

I've ordered an XV-88 keyboard, and am wanting damper and sustain pedals for it. I am having problems finding ones compatible with this keyboard, and the Roland UK site seems pretty useless. I ideally want pedals that are as piano-like as possible. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Biffer.... Roland's piano-style sustain pedal for the XV-88 is the DP-6... It is probably not the closest you can get to a piano though..... There is one pedal called the VPM-25 (not sure about the name, and I don't know the brand... sorry) anyway it has reversible polarity so it would work with any keyboard.... it looks a lot like a piano pedal.... that brand (VPM?????) also makes a two pedal and three pedal board... these are probably the closest to a piano pedal system.... they are layed out very similar to the piano.... go to www.zzounds.com and look for pedals. I don't think they deliver to the UK... but at least you'll know what to look for. I believe zzounds has the Roland DP-6 and all kinds of the VPM? pedals. Hope this helped.

Hey..... I found the other pedal I was talking about..... it is at Musicians Friend. And it is called the VFP 1/25.... like I said, it has a polarity switch (as does the XV-88, now that I think about it) so you could definitely use this pedal with the XV... the shape of the moving part of the pedal is very similar to a piano (more so than Roland's pedal)... although it is covered with rubber (looks removable) I still can't find the two or three pedal versions of this pedal anywhere.... I KNOW they exist. Those pedals are manufactured by Fatar in Italy and distributed in US by a company Music Industries. For your info, the single pedal has polarity switch that allows you change polarity for different brands of keyboards. However, the two and three pedal models do not have polarity switches - they are either "open" or "close" specifically. For information only, you can access the following URL:
