I love this place. If you are not the one being flamed, let them go. Most are really friends anyway.

You have to factor in that 27 of those replies were Ian and Donny. And that it went OT pretty quickly (guilty as charged!). Take a read of the thread and count how many actually answered the question, and the numbers aren't much higher than the rest of the forum As to the 'technical' threads, most of those are asked and answered on more manufacturer specific threads, and why duplicate it? Few here have or care for Wersi. Fewer yet for klezmer music. The Voncken has been posted and discussed before, Donny just starts these things as a reason to extoll/bash whatever he is/isn't currently playing. There really IS a reason this is the GENERAL arranger forum. This is where we discuss the differences (good and bad) between arrangers, and kaffeeklatsch with each other. If I want an answer to a Roland specific question, I go to Roland-arranger.com. A Korg user will get a faster answer (and less OT) at Korgforums.com. But you WON'T get as diverse (and passionate, for good AND bad!) a range of opinions there on comparative differences. Each has it's good and bad points. The specific manufacturer sites are usually a bit cut and dried, one viewpoint (or more so than here!), more technical. Here, you EXPECT diversity. Sadly, some can't manage to discuss this diversity without rancor and spite, and that's what sours this place. NOT the diversity itself...

Perhaps the EggNog isn't strong enough this year..., or maybe it's a tad too strong for some.

Funny how this topic started as simply "can't we all just get along".., yet it has been reduced to another single member bash. Donny hasn't even posted under this topic.., yet he has been dragged into it already.
