It would be fantastic if parts of this event could be videotaped and posted on youtube or something for those of us who can't attend.
Having never made it to one, (the midwest seems to be lagging behind in putting this kind of thing on,)I'd love to see any presentations or performances of the guys/gals who are there.
Possible?

Bill we might have someone to Vidoe some of this .....we'll also have our own cameras too so I know there will be pics & small videos.
BTw why don't youtry to get together a Midwest Jam also, I bet lots of players will attend... its always a great time for sure...heck if we're off we'll fly out or drive there also for the party!!!
Nice idea about putting the event on YouTube Bill, residing in the UK is a pain sometimes....is it my imagination or is it that hardly anynone on this forum has anything posted on Youtube?
I have one video of a jazz quintet I played with last year but as it's not on topic I have not posted it.
Very cryptic Dnj...but I think I understand what your saying...I've posted a few things recently but responce was sparce so I doubt if I will post much again.
Rgds

I can't see anyone stopping posting actual MUSIC because of a sparse response, but there are some pretty fragile egos here at SZ, and the thought that someone might not gush profusely in admiration seems to be enough to do the trick
Doesn't stop them posting WORDS as if they did have the goods, though!

Diki I imagine it's the same feeling you get when you go out and gig, put on your best performance and nobody claps....I expect we've all had a few of those eh!
I played in a club once where the artist the night before was so bad they were still booing when I went on the next day!
Sadly we here in the UK do not have the gigging oppurtunities you have due to bad UK economy and the dreaded disco killing live music, I personally have only had 7 gigs in 6 months but at least I have plenty of practice time.

Joe Lee Richards will videotape this event, as he did the two previous. In the past he has made copies available for a nominal fee. Before posting on Utube, we would have to get the permission of everyone on the video. DonM

Maybe a simple release form at the registration table?

Let me understand this.....I work in Wildwood..get home at 4:30 in the morning...head to the airport by 7 am...to catch a 9:30 flight into Dallas..(4 hours)...catch a ride to the LA jam location (3 hour drive).....and the remainder of that night is the main "Big session"...

Fran... you're YOUNG, you'll bounce back .... Take a nap in the afternoon the day before you leave, and then I see a good 5 - 6 hours sleep time in the 4 hours on the plane and the 3 hour dive ... just take your iPOD with some nice soft music and tell Donny to be quiet!!!
Donny, you sound so WIRED for this, you alone might be worth "the price of admission" ..
Sorry I can't be there, (other family obligations), but maybe this will entice someone to have one in the North East/Tri State area ...
Tony....I've known Don over 10 years my first SZ buddy from the old forum.....been good friends throughout, email, video chats, talk to each others wives on the phone, etc, but never met in person...I always told him I'd make it down to Louisiana one day soon.....2 years ago plans went astray to our disappointment which always bothered me...but I made it a point this year to clear a few days off my gig schedule and get me & my bodyguard Fran to get on a plane & head it south to the Shreveport Jam at all costs! And in 10 days we WILL be there for a few days of camaraderie, jammin', some good Cajun food & lots of fun with many SZ friends also! I wish my buddy Gary D was attending too but he has gigs up the Wazzoo! People dont be shy theres still 10 Days to make plans & come on down to the Jam!!
As far as a Northeast/Midwest jam......bring it on......but remember the DATES are the most important.....musicians have different needs then the 9-5 world.....so first plan the DATES where all can attend & be off from work/gigs etc.. ...THEN make the plans on where to have it Go for it !!
