I cam say without hesitation the Tyros does not have more features then the PA2x. But unless you need and use every single feature of an item that should not enter the equation.

Its a good idea (as I do with Sonar) NOT to upgrade with every rendition. I update my software every three years IF it has features I will use or have waited for. Going from the T2 to the T3 is worth about $1000 at most IMO. Going from the PSR300 to the tyros is worth every penny minus the sales price of the PSR3000.

The Korg is far more Workststion like than the T3. But it HAS to be. The availability and quiality of professionally crafted styles is woefully absent in comaprison. If you like crating stsyles no problem. PErsonally if I wanted to created styles I would have purchased a Motif.

ALL THAT SAID I am finding I will purchase a Motif or otherwise module to rerecord some older songs there is no possible of finding styles for. Those will have to be done the old fashion way....Track by track.

Until Yamaha moves the Tyros in the Pro keyboard division, I'm afraid there won;t be the "mother of all keyboards" in my world. Audya is out of the question. I already have VSTIs. For live use that would be a different story.

A Yamaha "TyroMotTX8" would be a great do all keyboard...

Does it matter, Donny?

The fact is that Roland's, especially the TOTL and MOTL arrangers are damn near impossible to try out. That leaves us at the mercy of those few who have, who either love 'em or hate 'em (or do both, during and after they have bought and sold them! ). And these reviews are seldom objective, one way OR the other...

It is Roland's fault they don't market and promote them better.
It's Yamaha's fault they don't make a 76.
It's Korg's fault they only have two fills and a break/fill.
It's Ketron's fault they are so expensive....

Plenty of 'faults' all around, IMO

Now you've got it Diki.....

To the manufacturer view point an uneducated user gets frustrated and will be more likely to jump on-board the "next greatest model" that comes out by the time they even scratch the surface of learning what they already have "for their needs" alone. Do you ever see extensive All level Instructional feature DVD's made for any of these units put out by the manufacturer? No!.....you have to find it on your own or on you tube or maybe from someone else on a forum, etc.. Most of this while they're are still learning how to even play, let alone figure out how the unit works. So it's no surprise who's fault it is,....is it?

Personally, I've never thought it is the manufacturers' responsibility to teach me how to use the unit... Guitars don't come with DVD's, drumkits don't come with an instructional DVD. It is the responsibility of the USER to educate themselves. To be honest, for all the bickering and deflection of goals this forum gets, I think that users educating each other is the primary need for places like this...

This is where we should be helping each other, sharing our tips and tricks, our discoveries about the OS's. Not the manufacturers. I've discovered more that the G70 can do than is in ANY manual or Roland website. Once an arranger is released, that's usually IT for the manufacturer... they are on to the next thing, and best of luck, mate! But it is the users themselves that REALLY learn how to work it, find hidden abilities, learn workarounds for the 'gotchas'...

Sadly, there's FAR more bickering about 'my arranger, right or wrong' than there is tips and tricks, workarounds and hidden feature discussion here... All the time wishing for the manufacturer to do OUR jobs for us! But, who knows? Maybe 2009 will be the year we all grow up and start to HELP each other rather than belittle each other for not choosing the same arranger as us...
