I thought this was worth its own thread:
Ketron USA is sending A.J. to demonstrate the new Audya at our Jam.
Ted Kraus was able to have ONE Audya expressed-shipped especially for this event.
The Audya has only been shipped to a few Italian music stores so far. Ketron wanted to be certain there were no issues overlooked before mass shipping begins.
A.J. will be arriving Sunday afternoon and come directly from the airport to the Jam. He will also have a clinic Monday morning before having to leave Monday evening.
This is a chance for us to see and hear the Audya, and put an end to much of the speculation!
Come on down guys, there is room for everyone!
There are directions to the Jam on the website and more information.

My PRIMARY question for the Audya...?

The guitar audio loops. What chords do they voice correctly, what ones do they NOT (or ignore), and are they the same for each style?

Please SOLO the loop track and check this out for me, please.

Do they do aug chords? Do they do min(maj7th)? Do they do 6ths? 6/9ths? 7#9ths? Inversions?

How quickly and glitch-free do they respond to rapid chord changes?

This feature alone is the major difference between the Audya and most other arrangers. Hence it is the reason for the huge increase in price (presuming it IS a lot more than the SD-1). How well it works, and how much variety it can provide (do ALL the styles have guitar loops, or just a few?) will make a big difference in how the Audya does, IMO...

520 miles, 30 min flight... Hmmmm. Let me do the math on that one.

That's nearly Mach 2 at 30,000 ft. Maybe if I talk to one of the guys at Eglin, I can get a ride on an F-16.

Will you guys spring for the in-flight refueling?

Diki,

I can't believe you would turn down this great opportunity, and meet a lot of very talented people from the zone. Even if it was a 10 or 12 hour drive, it's still worth the time and effort. If I hadn't booked the entire week prior to the announcement I would have driven down from Maryland and not blinked an eye.

Have a good time folks,

Gary

I sincerely wish I could have made it this time around. Unfortunately, I had already booked those dates many months before the announcement and two are corporate parties under contract, so unlike a NH job there was no way of changing them. I'm sure you will have a great time, Don is an outstanding and take lots of Zantac-150 with you. You Yankee boys are not used to Cajun cooking.

Lee,

Start driving Friday and even with a few stops you can make the Sunday session. It's in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. The last time I drove straight through it took about 17 hours, so from Jersey figure on about 20 hours.

Cheers,

Gary

For those who missed last year - it was very much worth the time. We had a great time - played a lot of music - met a lot of forum friends, and the hosts were outstanding. I will probably have my Tyros 3 there too. So, for those of you wanting to get hands on for the Audya and the T3 - now is the time.

My guess for April 1 was wrong (Well, it may still be correct, not arrived yet)

The date for Audya arrival here in Norway are now said to be Feb. 09. 2009, and the price is
corrected due to the rate of currency exchange.
Many expected the "forecasted" price level to lower a bit, but here we see the opposite.

Ordinary retail price Norwegian Kroner 59.900 = € 6351 = US$ 8367 !!!

And the "Offerprice" Norwegian Kroner 50.900 = € 5397 = US$ 7110 !!

"Offer" price is the same as you have to pay for two PA2X Pro, and full retail are same price
as two Tyros 3.
In other words, I can buy 1 Tyros 3 and 1 Korg PA2X Pro for almost the same money as 1 Audya !!!!!

WORTH IT ?? Time will tell.......

Cheers

Just heard from Hammer. His daughter was rushed to the hospital. One of her babies is having problems and may not survive. Needless to say, he won't be at the Jam.
Deane, my prayers are with you my friend.
