WOW! Guys make sure you KNOW your neighbors because this can happen anywhere in any neighborhood.

My wife and I live in a nice neighborhood. It's not a gated community, but a nice middle class neighborhood. I've got a retired school teacher to my right, Corrections officer across the street, devoted church attendees, ect. (there's even a State Police Officer up the street).

Over the last 8-9 months the people who live directly behind us (our yard is separated by a simple chainlink fence) have been horrible neighbors. They turned their back yard into a JUNKYARD.., trash everywhere, broken down vechicles, had a guy living in a 30+ year old camper back there too.

Well months ago they erected this horrible PVC frame enclosure. Then covered the entire thing with tattered blue tarps. It just looks terrible. For months we couldn't stand to even look out our back window or even go out into the yard much because it just looks so bad.., and smells terrible because their yard is a huge mud pit.

My neighbors have called the city on them countless times and complained about the property. Well yesterday evening at about 4pm the local Police and a HUGE drug enforcement agency swarmed that house. I'm talking 20+ officers guns drawn.., kicked in the door, served a warrant and arrested every adult on sight.

Now this is the part that has me down right pissed! Those dirty sacks of (you know what) had a fully functioning METH LAB running in that PVC framed enclosure. It wasn't a small lab either. This lab was 50 feet from my home! If it had exploded due to the size of this lab.., it would have blown the back end of my house right off! What really irks me is my child for months unknowingly (when back there) has been playing less than 50ft from a dangerous meth lab. Not only that.., but this huge meth lab was built (less than) 100 yards from a middle-school.

Thankfully the cops finally got these people. They are looking at serious prison time since they were running a lab that close to a school. The children in the home were taken away by CPS lastnight too. When the cops hauled these people off in cuffs you could literally hear the neighbors yelling, cheering, and clapping as it happened.

Guys KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS!!!!!!! Meth labs today have no preference in location. They're popping up in very nice neighborhoods now with little to no crime.

When my wife and I bought this house 4 years ago it was because it was a nice neighborhood with virtually no crime... All was well for the first 3 years.., then BAM! Drug raid at the neighbors Just know who your neighbors are guys. These meth labs are everywhere.., in cars, the slums and very nice neighborhoods like ours.

Ohhhh.., I'm not going anywhere Donny. The problem isn't this neighborhood. From what we've found out.., this family wasn't dealing from the property nor bringing in addicts to get their fix. They were producing it on the property for mass distribution to dealers. Thankfully the Police got wind early and had them under investigation for a while.

The house wasn't always like that. It didn't go sour until the man's wife (who is freakin trash.., and just up and left her family) decided to come home. She showed back up 3 years after we bought the home. It was her and the guy she moved into the back yard that started it all.

Many of us have called and reported this house for suspicious activity. We found out the city couldn't act on the complaints due to the open investigation by the PD. This is a nice neighborhood Donny. If we weren't so concerned about keeping this neighborhood safe.., there wouldn't have been hundreds of calls to both the city and PD over the last 6 months.

Like I said Meth Labs don't choose their own location. They're popping up everywhere. Not too long ago Police here busted a big lab in a very nice upper end gated community. This house probably cost well over $350,000 and the neighborhood was full of working professionals.

Thanks..., it's all good here. I never really knew how concerned my neighbors were about keeping our neighborhood safe until I spoke with one of the officers last night.., and he told me the number of calls they got were off the charts.

Understand too Donny.., that meth cookers are looking for places they think they're least likely to get caught. So naturally these things are popping up in nice neighborhoods now and next to schools. Places where they expect it's least likely to draw attention. It ain't working anymore though..., as cops have been busting meth labs here left and right.., and many of them have been close to schools and in nice neighborhoods like ours.

That ain;t nothin .. I was walking my dog yesterday. My neighors down the street went out to pick up their 4 33 gallon trash cans out of the street... (4 people live in the house).. The guy is holding the cans in his hands, smoking a cigarette and bends down to pick up cigarette butts from his front lawn and throws all the cig butts in the street, NOT in the trash can he was holding..

My dog was so pissed, it crapped on their lawn.

Well thankfully my dog kept my neighbors from exploring my yard. One day I looked out my window and saw them right next to my fence (I knew something was up as my spidey sense was all tingly). It wasn't just me. My German Shepard got a bad vibe from them.., and thanks to her I never saw them near my fence again

Squeak, what a story!! Something like out of the TV series "American's Most Wanted" or "Cops" Good luck, I'm happy to hear that the law took it's course and nailed them.

I'm glad they nailed them too.. For the sake of my child alone! I was boiling when I found out my child was playing less than 50 feet from a meth lab.

When I spoke to one of the officers (I think he was SWAT.., (very nice guy too). He said that 6 months ago he would have been shocked to see something like this pop up in a nice neighborhood like ours, but not anymore as they've been busting meth labs in places you'd never think to find them. Some next to churches, less than 50 feet from daycares, schools, by nursing homes, in car trunks, vans, you name it and they're finding them there.

This isn't just a problem in WV though.., as Meth busts have gone up EVERYWHERE in the country. Bad economy equals increase in drug activity and crime.

Hell.., you should see the number of home invasions now. It seems every night on the news we hear about a home invasion somewhere within the area. People getting their doors kicked in by crooks in broad daylight! They're getting that desparate now. Lately the crooks have been finding that more people in WV have guns than they expected! There was one story on the news.., elderly guy at home had a North American Arms Mini Revolver (also called a belly-gun) in his shirt pocket. He was sitting on the couch watching TV and BAM! Door hits the floor.., two guys bust in with knives. That old man pulled that little belly gun and put a round in the back of each invader as they hauled ass back out the door when they saw he was armed! A month ago a home invasion ended badly when they kicked in the door and found themselves at the wrong end of the homeowner and his shotgun.
