I've seen and heard the Audya. I KNOW it's good. Not so the MS.

There is new things coming up i think since i've been approached
by Zmago Ostersjek to do some work on the Station but i rejected.
I dont really have time right now with Audya coming out.
A friend of mine, Serbian took the offer and he might shed some
light on it, if i find something out i'll post.

And DNJ, even though i do work for Ketron stuff
i think i still like the Station, its more flexible,
especially using VSTs and all knds of things,
i've played it few times.

Swings and round a bouts

At the same prices, if you’re prepared to put some work in to make the arranger do, and be able to use whatever you want, (Rather then what the manufacture says you should do, and what software sounds etc, they allow you to use) then the Mediastation wins hands down.

If however you happy to get something OOTB and do a few tweaks to modify what the manufacture gives you, (As with all hardware boards) then the Audya leaves the Mediastation for dead.

When I bought my Wersi as I was already using VSTs and other sample formats with my computer set-up, and to go back to a hardware after this, was so limiting in sound and capability that it was a none starter, whereas the Wersi (Which cost me less then a Tyros 2) allowed everything to be done within the keyboard, that I could do with my computer set-up, thus allowing me to give the finger to the manufacture.

Regards

Bill

Waiting with bated breath to actually hear some of this technical superiority...

Sadly, both the most technically advanced arrangers available now have failed to impress me with much music made on it, relying so much as they do on the skill of the PLAYER to actually design the content, rather than someone who is a specialist at that (and letting the PLAYER be exactly what he is best at).

I am still waiting to hear some of this technical superiority get converted to MUSICAL superiority. I'm afraid that's the only thing that impresses me. And I'm pretty sure no-one in the general public reads the manuals...

Sadly, one of the posts on this thread, to me, pinpoints the problem... Dom is using someone from SERBIA to do the styles . Yamaha, Roland, and Korg use UK and US musicians (amongst others) to make their styles. To be honest, a few Serbian things I've heard on the MS are amongst the better things I've heard. But how big is the Serbian market compared to the UK and USA?

Without a large number of top quality styles in these genres, it's an uphill task to crack England and the US... (or Scandinavia, or Australia, or India, or....).

An arranger's content is just as important to sales as the arps and loops in a WS. Just imagine a MotifXS with NO loops and arps... You HAVE to make them all yourself. Not so good, now, is it?

CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT...

LIONSTRACS MEDIASTATION is really improving.

VST ADDICTIVE DRUMS

That can be really real drums in future because all midi tracks are made in tottaly different way.

You can see some things on their page:

No Dikki, the guy from Serbia is doing only some
Sample packages, and why would that worry you, or
cuz of the name of the country...LOL...trust me there
is some musicians that would put all of in the corner,
yes i am talking about western music.
The styles would be and are done by many musicians,
i might even take part of it.

If Mediastation ran Yamaha styles like Wersi now can...I'd pop for one. Styles problem solved. (Has to allow for Mega voices)

BECAUSE the voices available would be superb with VSTi.

With the HW boards today we are very limited as to sound quality and choices. Especially in the orchestral stuff I like.

Bill (Abacus( how in the world did you get a Wesrsi ???model??? for the same as a Tyros 2? The ones I looked at were $8,000 +.

I actually enjoyed playing the Mediastation also, not so much for stage work to heavy & big for that but a great studio piece with so many features & options.
