I would like some advice concerning how well (or not) the new Roland jv1010 module might complement my existing Korg X5D.At $400 it seems quite an appealing opportunity, but then again I do want to avoid a GAS attack.

Hi there - greetings from germany!
I got (I´m happy to speak in past tense) the same....hm...problem - I called a X5 my own
and had the chance to get a second-hand XP-30. Surely, I made the deal and I´m happy
´bout this. Of course, the sound character
of both synths is totally different - the KORG is very "middy" and has very (!!!)
excellent drums, the ROLAND is unbeat-
able if you want to have pads. If your
expansion place is still free, I recommend
the VOCAL-card - never heard better Vox-pads
in a synth before.
By the way - if you need sounds for the KORG,
through the years I did a lot of programming,
mail back,if you need some(X 5/X 5D - sounds
are compatible !) stuff !
greetings
achim
