Looking for sheet music to Mary Ann.

Harry Belafonte/Kingston Trio did the most famous versions...

I'm not overly familiar with the tune, but it'd be a good one for me to add.

Can't find it on Youtube to pick it up off of, either...

thanks-

Bill here's a link to a poorly done midi file, but you can get the idea ... the lead melody is played by a steel drum ...http://www.pcdon.com/midicalypso.html

and another bad one - lead is clearer on this as it is played by guitar ... http://midkar.com/world/world_02.html

lyrics here ... http://www.akh.se/harbel/lyrics/mary_ann2.htm

It's a Calypso tune, but I've found using a Merengue or Samba Rock style adds more to it ...
Chord progression is simple ..

Mary Ann, oh Mary Ann,
Oh you're the girl for me,
Even though your dear old mama
Will not say: si, si.
Mary Ann, oh Mary Ann,
Oh won't you please agree?
You and I should marry,
Raise a family.
When I met sweet Mary Ann,
Her Mother said to me:
Would you care to tell me
Where you stand financially?
She does not approve of me,
'cause I'm no millionaire,
But I love her daughter
More than I can bear.

Refrain:
All day, all night, Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside sifting sand,
All the little children love Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside sifting sand,

As I recall, there are only two chords, I and V.

Do you really need a chart for a song like this?

Since he was looking on Youtube for something to "pick it up off" apparently he doesn't NEED a 'chart' ... but since he is not familiar with the song, apparently he needs SOMETHING ...
Isn't giving a little help better than asking why he would need a chart ?!?!?
Not ALL of us can just play a song 'out of our head' if we are not familiar with it ...

Tony memorization exercises are the key to a great player....it can be done with repetition. Do it one song at a time & before you know it your crutch to use charts & lyrics will be non existent & will allow you space to open up and improvise a bit also in return your music will sound fresh and unique. On top of that you can look the audience in the eyes while your playing. Good luck.
