Where's Fred and Ginger??? Wow, I'm totally blown away, John. The mellowness and musicality of this rendition is impeccable. This is ballroom stuff. The clarinet is out of sight!

I am so impressed by all of the posts of music to date. Some of you have been hiding your talents form us for way too long. It seems that Nearness has really 'struck a chord' with us all. I can't go thru the day without humming this melody and thinking of the words. Thanks so much for all your talents and efforts.

We still have a good week to go and we are still waiting to hear from a few of YOU. Don't disappoint us now. You know who you are, so get that taape rolling and those fingers moving.

Hi All,
Here's my instrumental/orchestral version of Nearness on Ty3 which includes SA2 and custom voices. Hardly anything out-of-the-box.

Quick-recorded (meaning played at once, not multitracked) to midi first, using registrations to change setups for the different sections.

The middle section of piano/strings/flutes was played full keyboard (piano fashion) to get the more open sounds and embellishments without being hampered by split points.

I use a Yamaha P85 as the keyboard for Ty3 as controller and prefer the weighted feel for all arranger playing. http://www.box.net/shared/1f9kbi083c

Donny, John did a great job utilizing the Tyros3 arranger capabilities....but the best sounding arranger is in the ears of the beholder....I prefer the more "realistic" "LIVE" sound, that Roland , Korg and Ketron deliver..

We have several examples of arranger turned off, and technical skilled player...another (several) making the most of arranger mode and simplicity melody or light comping..and one or two that used both..arranger backing and full 2 hand play...

We also have some great vocal examples with arranger/seq backing...

I just offer another take with this tune....enjoy...

Is this month almost over..so we can get to "lady of Spain"..

Very nice Fran...are you playing over a commercial Midi file (SMF)?

Organ sounds terrific....nice playing, too.
