Maybe I will show this stand to my band members..Stu was thinking of buying the Podium 15's ...but weigh 56 pounds...Too heavy for him to lift on poles..I am tired of him waiting for me to lift the Yorkvilles high on the poles...and they weigh only 43 pounds..

I don't know why he thinks we need a pair of 2,000 watt (peak) power speakers..

The pair of 550 watt (program)Yorkville 12's work fine..It's just the 802's have amazed everyone...and we are curious to buy the 15's..

You still have to lift the speakers arm pit-high to get them on the poles. "Lift"

Try mounting your speakers on the floor and then tilting the spkr stand into position - usually takes 2 guys, but can be done by one w/practice. It's a lot less stressful.

The stands cost more then the Podiums!!! LOL

Proel has a far less expensive stand similar to this. The Proel has a "shock system" that prevents the speaker from slamming down when the support is loosened.

Cassp has the 'zero cost' solution... I use that myself, and can raise some VERY heavy speakers with minimal effort (don't forget, one end of the system is on the ground).

But don't let that persuade any of you to NOT spend lots of money. The economy needs all the frivolous spending it can get to recover quickly...
